PTE (Pearson Test of English)
PTE (Pearson Test of English) is a computer-based assessment designed to evaluate proficiency in speaking, writing, reading, and listening in the English language. PTE Academic serves as a measure of English language competency, fulfilling the language requirements for admission to colleges and universities in English-speaking nations.
The primary objective of the PTE examination is to determine whether candidates can succeed in international academic environments. The results of PTE reflect students’ capabilities to understand, read, listen, speak, and write in English while navigating a foreign context.
Test Format
PTE is a two-hour, computer-based assessment administered in a secure testing environment. This examination consists of four separate sections, each aimed at assessing different language competencies: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Within these sections, candidates will face a total of 20 distinct questions. The combined duration for the speaking and writing segments is approximately 54 to 67 minutes, while the reading section takes about 29 to 30 minutes, and the listening segment lasts between 30 and 43 minutes.
